Andrea created this bronze sculpture after reading Kafka's Metamorphosis. Unlike Kafka who puts his beetle on its back in limbo, Andrea sculpted the insect on its belly with ever so slightly pumped up wings just ready for take off into the unknown. According to Andrea this bronze beetle is an Ode to Sculpture.
